Is it, "That was back then, now is different"?

Doesn't that sound too...formal? How can I say it more...informally...?

dahulu=before, so dulu fore

sekarang=now, so sekarang=now

lain=different, so lain different

the complete one is "tat fore arr... now different wor..."
