How do you score Mahjong?

I think I'm only dealing with the tiles that have various amounts of circles on them. The tiles are in the following order and have this many circles on them: 1,1,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,9,9.

Mahjong is scored several different ways, depending on the rule set that your are playing with.  The basic scoring is for Kong or Pung, which are 3 of a kinds.  You are allowed to meld runs of 3 or more, but they have no point value.  The term Pung or Kong is used to differentiate melds scored solely from your hand versus melds scored using someone else's discard.  No poi9nt difference between them.  The only time a pair may be played is to go out.

All of the various rules sets also have certain set hand combinations, which score a set number of points.  For example, under Hong Kong rules, if your hand consists of nothing but Dragons and Winds, this hand is called "All Honors," and is worth 64 points.

Circles is just one of the suits in Mahjong, the others being bamboo characters.  They all score equivalently.

The hand you have described is almost the hand known as the "Nine Gates" in Hong Kong scoring.  It would require one more tile the matches any of the other tiles in your hand.  It must be scored concealed (no kongs, or picking up opponent discards), and scores 64 fan (points).

I believe it is for every successful pair, no matter the symbol on them.  I may be mistaken but that is how my free pc game works.
