How do you seal a dummy cake?

I had a dummy cake made for a grooms cake for my "now" husband and I was told to buy something to spray on it to seal it so it will last longer, what do I buy to seal it? I think it is made out of fondant? or something that looks like fondant.

Call the person/place that made it and ask them if they have any tips for sealing it.

If that doesn't work, I'm sure you can find something at a craft store (just ask customer service).
