How do you see the Sux doing the rest of the way?

NOW, I'm a Yankees fan so obviously I'm biased but I think the Sux will struggle with the Yankees and Rays. They SHOULD NOT have traded Manny! Yankees are getting hot at the right time (although they didnt look good last night, but the Angels are far and away the best team), the Rays look like they're not gonna come down...it could be a long rest of the way for the Red Sux and their fans.

Jason Bay looks like he sucks, they gave up two valuable prospects and one of the top 5 hitters in the game. They look screwed to me!

What do you think?

  1. It's really hard to tell right now because September is a huge month for all the top AL East teams because they face each other a lot in that month.

But I think, if the Rays keep up their A-Game, the Red Sox will squeak in the Wild Card but lose to the Angels.

  2. get a life.  sux? what are you 12?

  3. With Manny gone, K-rod's job just got a whole lot easier.

    boston sux.

    GO ANGELS!!

  4. Jason Bay does suck! Boston will play under 500 ball. They suck now!

  5. Both the Yankees and Rays have good teams and teams of that caliber are going to get hot and play very well throughout the season.  However, the Red Sox are also a good team and I see no reason why they shouldn't contend.  It is difficult to lose the caliber player of Ramirez but your evaluation of Jason Bay is not accurate.  To this point in the season Bay is .282-22-64 and 72 runs scored while Ramirez is .299-20-68 and 66 runs scored.  In addition, Bay has put up these kinds of numbers in the past and should be a nice addition for the Red Sox.  He also brings the added value of being a good teammate and great in the clubhouse.  I believe the Red Sox fans will come to appreciate the great enthusiasm Bay brings into the mix and the team should be just as solid as ever moving forward.

  6. Obvlosuly your basid bandwangor

  7. ha! ha! i agree! bye boston, bye!!!! as far as the scumbag who asked you waht age you are? he is a coward who will not allow others to email him, so do not let jerks like him bug you! goodbye boston!! i love it! red sox will not make playoffs!! bye, red sox!!  glad manny got traded!

  8. i think the red sox are done as well...they had to trade manny, his behavior was unacceptable, he was tearing the clubhouse apart, but still jason bay won't be able to replace his production, plus bay has never been in a pressure situation in the majors before since he has played his entire career with the pirates

  9. The SOX will be just fine. They did what needed to be done, which is cut the cancer out of the locker room. Bay will be an adequate hitter in Fenway, and will be less of a liability playing left field in any stadium other than Fenway.

As far as 2 "valuable" prospects,

      - Craig Hansen has been in the organization for 3 years now, and just has not lived up to all the hype, struggling to figure out who he is as a pitcher.

      - Brandon Moss is a fourth outfielder type, who wasn't going to get much playing time in Boston anyway, much like David Murphy who was traded last year.

My only problem with the trade is that the Sox didn't get a relief pitcher in the deal, which is something they greatly needed.

You say the Rays don't look like they're gonna come down, but their true test will come in September when they play 12 games in 16 days against the Sox and Yankees. They are still a young team who did nothing to help themselves at the trading deadline, so we'll see how they deal with the pressure. We both know the Sox and Yanks have dealt with it before, and that, I think is to our advantage!
