How do you sell off household stuff that you dont need in India?

We have an old TV, VCR, trunks, sofas etc.. which we want to sell and get something new. In the west, they do garage sales where people advertise nearby and people can come and buy this for very cheap rates.. how do sell such household stuff in India?

  2. Normally, we give it to our friends, relative or neighbors, who may wants it, normally without taking any money. If nobody asks, then we give it to a scrap dealer, for a consideration.

    Now, most of the FMCG, they take the old one, when we buy a new. Depending upon the condition of the goods, they deduct the amount, while billing for the new one. This trend is fast popularising.

  4. In India people is not that much free of mind to buy 2 hand items, because the users not use carefully there household goods. If you become an NRI or a Diplomat then advertise to sell your product in daily newspaper on Sunday. You see there will a que, outside your house and people will buy everything on the same day.
