How do you send a message topeople on your friends list?

I want to leave a message for my friends all the time when there not on but I don't know how.Help me!

Here's several ways to send your friends messages:

-Sending an IM to someone on your Friends List:

Double-click the ID on your Friend List to open an IM window.

-Sending an IM to multiple friends:

Click the Message button located on the menu toolbar. Type the Yahoo! IDs of the recipients in the To: field, separating the entries by commas.

Or hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and click on all the Yahoo! IDs that you would like to send a message to then right-click on one of the selected IDs and choose Send a Message.

-Sending an IM to an entire group:

Right-click on a group name and select Send Message to all in this group.

If you send an instant message to a friend that is offline (has a gray face  next to their name), the IM will be stored in that friend's offline message box. They will be able to view your message the next time they are online.
