i don't know if you're supposed to put a country code and area code before the actual number. i got given this number to send a message to. +642112103xx. please help.

  1. +64 is the country code. Enter the number as is. If in the same country, you can still use the number like that, or just take off the +64 and put 0.


  2. If the actual number with no country code is 04068297XX, you need to replace the first number 0 with the country code for Australia which is 61. You need to dial 614068297XX.

  3. Gemmi nearly has it correct, the international code by a mobile phone to Australia is +61, then the mobile number you are sending a text to, drop the '0' at the start of the number so you would send it as '+614********.

    All Australian mobiles are 04 to start with, I hope that clears it up correctly

    +61 is the number for Australia via a mobile, from a land line you simply replace the + with 00. Calling and Texting a mobile work the same.

    A standard mobile number in Australia is 0421xxx x*x. So when adding the international code you drop the zero. I.E +61421xxx x*x.
