How do you send a traditional mail?

I know this is probably the most ridiculous question asked on this site but I really don't know because I'm used to emails.

The person I'm sending the mail to is 40 miles away from me... I live near san francisco and he lives in fremont. I'm mailing him tickets for this concert(i don't think this count as a package). What kind of postage do I use? Do I just drop them on those blue mail boxes? How long would it take?

Lol thanks

  1. Since tickets are small, you can just send them in a normal envelope. All you need to do is put his address in the center of the envelope and your address in the upper left corner. You will only need the normal postage, which you can get at any post office. While your at the post office, you can mail it from there or you can place it in the blue box. It should take about 2 days.

  2. 1) Get an envelope that will fit your tickets.

    2) Write your address in the top left corner

    3) Write the person's address in the middle of the envelope

    4) Put the correct postage in the very top right corner of the envelope (40-90 miles is 12 1/2 cents I think.)

    5) Drop that **** in a blue mail box, close pin it to the outside of your own mailbox for the mailman to get, or bring it to the post office, any of these options will work.

(It should only take a couple of days if he lives that close, no post on Sundays.)

  3. Your address goes in the top left corner of the envelope. His goes in the center. Place the stamp at the top right. It's 43 cents now I think. Then drop it off in a blue box that should have "US Postal Service" on the side with the eagle logo. As long as the tickets aren't heavy or anything it doesn't count as a package.

  4. You can drop it in the blue box but make sure you have the correct postage.  If you have an old stamp, it may be outdated(the cost of postage has gone up).

Be sure to put his address in the center of the envelope and don't forget to put the stamp on it(they'll send it back to you for lack of postage).

  5. If the tickets fit in a standard size envelope, then you just one one first class postage stamp.  Don't forget to put your return address on it.  The return address goes at the top lefthand corner of the envelope, the stamp goes at the top righthand side of the envelope and the address of the person you're sending it to goes in the center.  If you're unsure, you can always go to the post office and ask for help.

  6. Put the tickets in an envelop and put postage on the envelop.  Be sure to put your friend's name, address, city, state and zip code on the envelop and your return address in the top left corner.  Put a stamp or two on the envelop (top right corner) and drop it in a post box.  It shouldn't take more than 3 days to get to him, depending on the mail service in your area, and when you drop it off.

  7. Not a stupid question. There's a first time for everything. Put one stamp in the upper right corner. Write your name and address in the upper left hand corner. Write his name and address in the center. Drop it off in the blue mail boxes at the post office and it should get to him either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

  8. To make your life easier just get an envelope fill it with whatever and seal it. Than in the center in large print write the person's name and adress (don't forget the zip code). On the top right corner in small print write your adress. After that take it to your post office it'll be easier.

    =)

  9. i seriously hope you're joking.

use a regular 9x4 envelope and put a stamp on the top right corner. put your name and address on the top left and put the recipient's name and address on the middle.  then mail it (put it in that blue box)
