How do you send text messages to colombia from cali?

I know you need country codes and stuff like that. If someone could help me out that would be great, Thanks!

Better option. If your friend in Cali has Comcel or Movistar (The two biggest in Colombia) Tell them to enable internet texting and you can go to the comcel or Movistar website and send them a text. If you are from the US and are in Cali with YOUR US cell, it cant be done. Ive tried it with Verizon, Tmobile, Sprint and AT&T (some of which will roam on either or both networks) and was never successful in sending a message. Or better yet buy a phone card at someplace like cloncard.com and call. Its like 2 cents a min for land lines or Colombiaflat.com and its 29.95 for unlimited calls to land lines in most places in Colombia.
