How do you set a wallpaper for the Ipod Touch?

I just bought a iPod Touch 8GB model. I tried to set a wallpaper and it didn't do anything. Its just a standard black background.

I tried to set a Earth background

  1. You can't change that background. The wallpaper only changes the picture that shows up when you lock/unlock the ipod.


  2. You can't change the black background. Wallpapers are changed by tapping Settings ===> General ===> Wallpaper, but this only changes the background when the iPod is locked.
