How do you set the alarm on an analog alarm clock?

There were no directions. I see the third hand but don't i need a fourth hand? Or am I only supposed to set the alarm on the hour.

  1. You can only set it on the hour, but you can also (imprecisely) set it at times between the hours.  For 6:30 for example, you want to set the third hand halfway between the 6 and 7 and so on for other times.  The alarm sounds when the hour hand matches with the third hand.


  2. Just set the 3rd one to where you want to get up. Say you want to get up at 5:30. You would point the 3rd hand at half way between the 5 & 6. I am not eal sure on the am/pm. I think you just need to set it after the 12:00 before when you want to get up. It has been quite awhile since I have used one of those. I thought I was the only one in the dark ages yet!!! I am pretty sure that should work for you if ya can follow the directions or figure them out.
