Question:

How do you set up Yahoo! Music Jukebox so that it will automatically update??

When I fired up Yahoo! Music Jukebox on my laptop the other day it automatically prompted me with a message letting me know that version 2.2.1.035 was available and asked if I would like to download it. I did and that's what I've been running on that machine. BTW, I REALLY like some of the things they've enhanced in that build of the product!

Now I'm at my desktop PC and I fired up Yahoo! Music Jukebox, but was not prompted about the update. The version on this machine is 2.1.1.106 and I would like to update to the 2.2.1.035 build.

Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change within the application or is there a way to manually accomplish this?

Thanks for any answers you can provide!

  1. My advice is to upgrade yourself.  You do this by going to add or remove programs and uninstall Yahoo Music Jukebox.  Since I've had YMJ, it has prompted me twice to upgrade (there were actually 3 or 4 potential upgrades).  Why, it didn't alert me I do not know and there are "no" options to control the upgrading.  After you uninstall YMJ, goto downloads.yahoo.com and download/install the latest version of YMJ.  It is also advisable to install the latest version of Microsoft Windows Media Player.  That would be WMP 11.  This makes sure that YMJ has the latest Direct Show codecs.  Also, you should download the latest version of Flash Player if you intend to use Launchcast radio outside of YMJ.  Here are some links:
