How do you set up a network password for an optimum online connection??

I have optimum online and someone keeps connecting to it and might have access to my files...can someone PLEASE tell me how to set up a network password?

What you say makes little sense.

Do you have a wireless LAN (Local Area Network)?  If so, reconfigure it to implement very tight network security and the problem will go away.  Review the manual that came with the wireless access point.

If you have a wired network, only those connected via wired connection will be on your LAN.  You can control this.

If you do not enable network sharing on the pc in Windows Explorer no one can access your files.
