Okay, so I have two laptops, one is mine, and one is my sister's. We want to connect them wirelessly through a router attached to a pc. We already get our internet from the router, but we want to be able to play games, and share files through the network. So to do this, we figured we needed to set up a network. Any idea's?

Here is our computer info, both are the same.

Manufacturer: Acer

Processor: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2060 @ 1.60GHz (2 CPUs)

Memory: 1014MB RAM

Hard Drive: 120 GB

Video Card: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.

the router is

Any thing will help, thanks.

  1. You need to buy a wireless router to add to your setup.  Just plug it (wireless router) in to one of the free LAN ports on the Siemens modem/router to get wireless connectivity and additional LAN ports.

  2. If i get what you are saying.

Your laptops and PC already use a wireless router to access the internet.  Correct ??

All you need to do is enable "File Sharing" to transfer files between them. you can also enable "Print Sharing" to share a printer.
