  1. For immediate, unconditional divert (original phone doesn't ring at all):

    *21*  <number>  #

    To cancel:  #21#

For divert on no answer (rings for about 15 to 20 seconds then diverts if not answered):

    *61* <number> #

    To cancel: #61#

    For divert on busy:

    *67* <number> #

    To cancel: #67#

On many exchanges you may also set up divert on no answer & divert on busy simultaneously with:

    *66* <number> #

    and cancel both simultaneously with

    #66#

To check whether a particular form of diversion is turned on and to hear the number which will receive diverted calls use:

    *#21#

    *#61#

    *#67#

Note that whenever ANY one of three divert options is in use you will hear an interrupted dialtone when you pick up instead of a continuous dialtone.

Edit to add information in response to another reply:

On a BT landline you can in fact divert incoming calls to any other valid number you like -- landline, mobile phone, even international.

With regard to costs, you need to have call diversion as part of your calling features package.  If this is the only calling feature you subscribe to, it will cost you £1.75 per month.

You then pay for the diverted part of the call at exactly the same rate as if you had made that call yourself from your home phone.    For example, if you set diversion to your mobile phone then somebody called your home number, you answer on your mobile phone and talk for 5 minutes, then you will be billed exactly the same amount as if somebody had picked up your home phone, called your mobile phone directly, and then talked for 5 minutes.

  2. If you want to divert all calls to your Mobile or another phone then I'm affraid your out of luck, either they don't provide the service or they do so at an extortionate cost. If you want to hide your called ID then type 141 before the number but I doubt that's what you mean.
