How do you set up the remote?

I bought a remote for my ihome ih5 and the ihome doesnt receive signals from it, does it just not work or do I have to do something before the ihome recognizes it?

Try to find how to program it with the ihome's remote code or if ihome is not listed, how you can try to find another code that may work with ihome.
