  1. You should go to recording options. Check in there and then there should be an option that says stop recording at end of show.


  2. That's gonig to depend on your DVR.  I own a TiVo, and I can log into the TiVo website from any computer and access my home DVR.  I can set it to record anything, change preferences - it's full remote access, which is awesome.

    If your DVR came with your cable or satellite package, you'll want to check and see if it offers remote access (most do).  Generally, you'd access it through your provider's website (comcast.com for their DVR's, etc).

  3. Usually you can go to the website of the provider and set it from there. DirectTv and Tivo allow that. Don't know aboutt he others.
