I don't have an alarm clock, but I want to see if there is a way to make yourself wake up naturally. Is it possible?

  1. If you get up (maybe have someone wake you up for the first few days) at the same time every day and take a quick walk in the sun within a half hour of waking, you should continue to wake up on your own at the same time after that, unless you don't get enough hours of sleep.

  2. Your body clock is dependent on light, so your body knows 'what time of day it is' by light, which actually means it knows what part of its daily metabolic cycle to perform based on light.  That's the basis of jet lag, the light doesn't match your body's metabolic pattern so it starts to change it and gets out of whack for a while.  To train your sleeping pattern go to bed and get up at the same time everyday, even weekends (up to 1 hour sleep in shouldn't hurt it).  If this means changing your bedtime, do it gradually, half an hour earlier every few days until you reach the right time.  And it means you will probably need an alarm clock to train your wake up time, after a while your body will have a good biological rhythm and you should almost always wake up at the same time everyday.

  3. By getting into a sleeping routine: i.e. going to bed on time and waking up regularly. Your body gets accustomed to the pattern.
