  1. Do a chemical inventory of you facility and determine which chemicals pose safety/health hazards.  After you have identified those, contact the manufacture of each chemical and request a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to you.  The sheets should then be stored in a book and be readily available to the workforce.  Hazard Communications training (OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.1200) also needs to be done as well


  2. Get a hand held file case and list all of the products that your company uses in alphabetical order and then have the following information for each product that you have..........

    Identification

    Hazard(s) identification

    Composition/information on ingredients

    First-aid measures

    Fire-fighting measures

    Accidental release measures

    Handling and storage

    Exposure controls/personal protection

    Physical and chemical properties

    Stability and reactivity

    Toxicological information

    Ecological information

    Disposal considerations

    Transport information

    Regulatory information

    Other information and emergency numbers
