  1. ok, wow!-- ok, first windows xp home can only connect to a host such as xp professional, vista ultimate or business, or a windows server, you cant connect to a vista basic computer, and the same way for xp home, both will not work together, first you need xp professional so the vista basic computer can connect to it. or the xp home to connect to  vista ultimate or business. which i'm guessing you don't have ether, sorry
