How do you setup and get your information/graphics etc. for your blog?

Question

I was just wondering how did you set up your blog? I would like to do a BreastCancer blog for my Breastcancer Sisters.How do you create information you want on it? And, create the certain type of graphics and photos you want? Your honesty is greatly appreciated here.

Since setting up and getting info/graphics on a blog differ for each one, here are some free blogs.

There are a couple of special sites for cases like breastcancer. Two of these are Caring Bridge (http://www.caringbridge.com) and Lotsa Helping Hands (http://www.lotsahelpinghands.com). Some normal blogs are Wordpress (http://www.wordpress.com), Blogger (http://www.blogger.com) --*Probably your best bet*, and Thoughts (http://www.thoughts.com). A list of blog hosts are at http://mashable.com/2007/08/06/free-blog... All these blogs have a guided process for setting up, etc. Using Blogger.com, though, I'll lead you through the steps.

1. Create an account (If you already have a Google account, log in)

2. Name your blog and pick a domain name

3. Choose a template

TO CREATE A POST:

1. Click the "Posting" tab at the top of the page.

2. Click the "Create" subtab right under it.

3. Type in a title.

4. Now type in a post. If you want, you can change font, color, insert HTML, etc.

5. Click "Publish Post" to publish it to your site, or click "Save" to save it as a draft (this will NOT post it).

TO INSERT PICTURES:

1. Create a post.

2. In the box where you type the post, click on the button to the right of a button that has a picture of the letters ABC with a checkmark through it. The "Insert Image" button looks like an picture and when you keep your mouse over it for a couple seconds, it will say "Add Image". Click it. (If that was confusing, leave a comment and I'll clarify).

3. A window should appear with uploading options.

4. To upload a picture from your computer, click the browse button, choose a picture and click "Open". If you have a picture you want to upload from the internet, enter it's URL in the box that has URL: in front of it.

5. After your picture is selected, choose the layout and image size. IMPORTANT: Be sure to click the "I accept terms and sevices" checkbox at the bottom of the page by the "Upload Image" button.

6. Click upload image, then done.

TO UPLOAD VIDEO:

1. Click the button next to the image button (it looks like film).

2. Click "Browse" and find the video you want.

3. Enter a video title

4. Click the "I agree to terms and conditons" checkbox and then click "Upload Video".
