How do you setup for the star-burst trick shot in pool?

  2. Start with only one of the three ball clusters and work your way up. Put the center ball near one of the side pockets, probably a ball or two widths out so you're not too close to the rail. Freeze the other two balls to it. The corner pocket ball has to be lined up toward the long rail point of the corner pocket. The side pocket ball needs to be lined up toward the far pocket point. (see the first link) Then just hit the center ball into the opposite corner pocket. It may feel a bit different because you'll have more resistance when you shoot due to the other balls, but be sure to follow through. Once you get this down, you can set up a few more clusters. These get more difficult to shoot since you have to aim over the other clusters.
