  1. If you can't sew here's a simple solution.  Take them to an alteration shop.  They know how and will do it in a few days.  Prices can range from cheap to Very expensive to do it though.  Check the phone book for listings.  Also some dry cleaners offer alterations.  This is not something you can do from instructions.  The cost of a decent sewing machine will pay for several pair of pants.

  2. It's not possible to turn bootcut's into skinny's without getting bunching in the knees unless you take the fabric all the way to the thigh.  This is the most common complaint when people try to do this.  When they do take in the fabric all the way up the leg to avoid bunching, the thighs end up being too tight.  It's very difficult to do.

By the time you got it to be the way you wanted it, which would probably have to be done at a tailor, you might have been better off buying a pair of skinny's.  Plus, bootcuts will never go out of style whereas skinny's definitely will.  You might want to hang on to your bootcuts for the future  and purchase a cheaper pair of skinny's for the season.

  3. I have to agree, she's not wearing jeans. You start with jeans by taking out the seams along the sides, a tough job in itself. Then you have to decide on how "skinny" you want them.

This is not an easy job, especially for someone that knows very little about sewing. You'll need a good machine, most won't sew through the four or five thicknesses that your going to be working with.

I have done this many times but, both my wife and,  I are professionals in sewing and, have six machines. When my grand daughters bring their jeans around for work, I try and dissuade them, it's a tough job on jeans.

             Think about buying them instead.

  4. First of all she is not wearing jeans in that picture.

And if you do not know how to sew in the first place the project you wish to undertake is very involved and not for the novice.

It involves ripping out seems and then resewing them.  Not something that can easily be done without a sewing machine.

I think you need a reality check!
