  1. You just have a + and - sign on the gear stick. This is usually on the side of a standard auto box. You use N & P as usual but change gear using + to change up, - to change down. You just back off the accelerator when you change. In my car if you fail to change when you should, eg when slowing down, or if the rev counter is going into the red, the gear box will still change for you.

  2. Hi,

this is your 2nd question, you're like me with these questions.

There are several positions on the gear lever.

    P - Park

    R - Reverse

    N - Neutral

    D - Drive

    S - Second or Slow

    T - Tiptronic Mode

There is a seperate mode for tiptronic, Directly underneath this position are two positions, plus and minus. Obviously to move either up or down the gears.

When lever is in this certain mode, it has extended movement to select vertically aswell, this is the way it is made.
