  1. let go of the gas

    push the clutch in

    shift gear

    let the clutch out

    get back on the gas

    as long as you are going fast enough (10mph+) you dont have to get back on the gas while letting the clutch out, you can do it after you let the clutch out.  also if the car is jumping foward once you let the clutch out it is because you are shifting early.

  2. Slowly Ease out the clutch while applying the correct amount of gas?

  3. It's just something you need to get a feel for... it's a matter of easing the car into gear with the right amount of gas and letting off the clutch at the right time.

  4. First, place your left foot properly on the clutch. Gently step on the clutch and try to catch the best angle for engagement and disengagement of clutch. Place you left hand (in the US, right hand) on the gearstick and shift it to the gear you need. Slowly let go of the clutch. Remember, this requires lots of practice. It's not a one-day deal.Supposedly you've release the clutch halfway and vehicle starts rolling, start accelerating (also do it gently). At the same time let go more and more of the clutch pedal until you can put your foot aside.

    Also, if you're afraid that your vehicle is going too fast for you to handle, just push and hold the clutch whilst occasionally braking to slow the vehicle down. Also, don't forget to shift the gear into neutral if you're coming to a complete halt.
