When people ask for references, what are you supposed to present? Is like your job experience or something? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I'm really new to this whole "working" thing.

  1. You have to find around 3 different people who you have worked with to vouch for your skills and experience and character. If you haven't had any prior work experience you could always use a teacher, but you can't use your friends or family.

You just have to give them their name and contact number so that the recruitment consultant can call them and ask them some questions about you. Some employers will give you a written reference, and if the interviewer asks you for your reference you either give them a written one or a sheet with the name and contact number of your reference.

  2. A neatly handwritten or typed list of usually three references.

Past Employers, personal or character references....thier name, postiion, how they know you and their contact information...usually a phone number
