How do you show work ability?

I'm applying for a job and it says if under 18 can you show your eligible to work? how do i show that?Don't answer if you don't know, please!

Go to your school. They would have a work permit for you and your parents to fill out and sign, showing that you are a minor and that your parents give their permission for you to work.

Does your state have some sort of "working papers"  (employment certificate) for minors. We do here in NY and I think that is what they are looking for. Most of the teens get them through their schools but I know you can get them from the state department of labor as well.
