How do you shrink clothes?

i have a shirt and shorts i bought that are too big..like yea...

the shirt is 100% cotton

the shorts are 97% cotton 3%spandex..they say to wash seperately in cold water and line dry..yea right...their plaid..maybe thats got somehting to do with washing seperately...i wouldnt know

  2. use very warm water...this should shrink both of them after u put it in the dryer on high

  3. Wash in hot water and then dry in hot heat and they will be shrunk.

    No guarantees they won't get too shurnk though! And most cotton shirts now a days are preshrunk, so it may be harder to shrink them.

    If you wash clothing in hot or warm water, the colors all might run together and you'll come out with all brown clothing that isn't pretty. That's why they say wash in cold and separately. Or with like colors. Plaid can and will run the first few times of washing it, so best to wash alone for the first few times anyway. Some white vinegar in there will help set the color a little faster. Half a cup.
