How do you sign a check that's been made out to you over to someone else?

Confusing, but I can't think of a better way to phrase it.

On the back of the check you write:  Pay to (persons name) and then sign below that.

endorse the back with your signature and give it to them and they can endorse under your name and deposit the check into their account it is called a 3 party check

That is called a THIRD PARTY CHECK and most stores and people won't take them.  Your best bet is cash it at your bank and give them the money.
