My baby (15 months) knows mama and da and a few other signs (potty, dirty, milk, more, all gone......) and would like to get a few more family names down

  1. Sure! Sister is signed as "girl", then hitting both hands on top of one another (right hand on top), making the "L" sign on both hands (however, the pointing fingers are pointing outwards, towards the other person).

    "Grandmother" is signed as "mother" ("5" hand stretched, thumb on chin), but you move your hands in a motion that represents two hills.

    "Grandfather" is the same as "grandmother", but in the location where "father" is signed (at the forehead).
