  1. Your question is awfully broad, too broad to answer really.

What do you want to solder? Copper pipe, brass, electronics, jewelry, eyeglass frames or ????

  2. Buy a solder gun.

It it's for something small, get a small one.

If it's for something large, get a larger one. You can probably find a small one at Wal-Mart in either the craft or tool section.

The larger ones would be available in a tool section or at a hardware store.

  3. First you go to a home supply, or hardware store, and buy a soldering kit. This should consist of: a bernzomatic torch, a bottle of propane, some solder, and some soldering paste. Make sure you have all the fittings you need for whatever you are soldering. Then cut, everything to size, make sure it fits together, sand or rough up all the areas that will be soldered. assemble the parts, apply soldering paste, heat with torch, until solder melts into pipe on contact, apply heat/solder as needed. If this is your first time, I reccomend having someone who knows how nearby. He can show you how, and prevent you from burning the house down.

  4. you'll need a heat source such as a torch for pipe work or a soldering gun for more delicate work. also there are two different kinds of solder...electrical and non-electrical. Get the heat very close to the area to be soldered and heat it to the point where it melts the solder when you apply it and that's it except when doing pipes always clean the area first with sand paper and apply flux which is a paste that helps to spread the solder evenly and helps it to bond as well...good luck

  5. The best answer I can give you is to google in how to solder. Pick the type of metal you want to solder click in and it will take you to the web sight you need to show you how or give you an idea. There are so many different metals along with different types of solders for soldering different types of metal that it would take an hour or more to explain how to do it the right way. If its for electronics you have to be very careful of the types of wire and solder you use.
