For Earth Day, a group I belong to will be working with The Department of Interior's U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service with projects aimed at marsh restoration and to clean up the area. We need to provide lunch for around 50 people. How can I solicit a supermarket or restuarant to donate lunch? What should I say to them on the phone? I'm not even sure what to ask for. I am new to this. Thanks.

  1. talk to the person that owns the place probably

  2. Speak to the manager or owner.

  3. When you call -ask for a manager and explain as you have here. Most likely they are familiar with such requests and will walk you right through. It would be a good idea to try the locals before the chains. Don't be afraid to try local distributors also. My husband does route sales/big truck for Dreyer's/Edy's Ice Cream and they always want community business. There are many others. Thanks for the work.

  4. I would aproach the mgr,and offer to list them as a sponsor, and maybe present hem with a plaque?

  5. You cal and ask!  Especially the green restaurants and more organic markets that are not corporate conglomerates.  State your request just like you did here.
