  1. 4x +20 = 5(x+3)...............distribute 5 by multiplying to both x and 3

    4x +20 = 5x +15...............subtract 4x from both sides of the = sign

           20 = x +15.................subtract 15 from both sides

           5   = x

  2. 4x+20=5(x+3)

    4x+20=5x+15

    -4x      -4x

    20= x+15

    -15      -15

    x=5

  3. first, distribute the 5

    4x+20=5x+15

    then put all of the x terms on one side of the equal sign

    20=x+15

    then make the x term by itself

    5=x

  4. 4x+20 = 5(x+3)

    By distributive rule, 5(x+3) = 5x + (5×3) = 5x+15.

    4x+20 = 5x + 15

    Subtract 4x from both sides of equation:

    20 = x + 15

    Subtract 15 from both sides of equation:

    5 = x

  5. 4x+20=5(x+3)

    first step; you distribute 5 out to each of the numbers in parentheses. and that means you multiply 5 by x and 3

    so now the equation is

    4x+20=5x+15

    next.. you want to get the variable (x) on one side. so subtract 4x from both sides

    so now the equation is

    20= x+ 15

    next, you want to get the number on the opposite side of the variable (x) so you have to do the inverse operation of +15. this means you have to subtract 15 from both sides.

    so now the equation is

    5=x

    HOPE THIS HELPED!

  6. 4x + 20 = 5(x + 3)

    Distribute the 5:

    4x + 20 = 5x + 15

    Subtract 4x from both sides:

    20 = x + 15

    Subtract 15 from both sides:

    5 = x

  7. First distribute(multiply)  the 5 to both of the terms in the parenthesis. You do this first because you have to do order of operations. (PEMDAS which stands for parenthesis, then exponets, then mult, then division, then addition, then subtract)

    4x + 20 = 5x + 15

    Then subtract 4x from both sides to get the x's on the same side

    20=x +15

    Then subtract 15 from both sides to find x

    x=5

    I really love math. lol. I hope this helped you a little!

  8. 1. You open the brackets

    4x+20=5x+15

    2. You take the x's to one side and the numbers to the other side

    4x-5x=15-20

    3. Do the calculations

    -x=-5

    4. you divide the 5 with -1

    x=5

  9. 4x + 20= 5x  + 15

    subtract 4x from each side

    20 = x  +  15

    subtract 15 from each side

    5 =  x

  10.   4x+20=5(x+3)=5x+15

        4x+20-20=5x+15-20-5x

        -x=-5

         Remember, you're solving for x, not -x, therefore

        x=5

                             Keep studying

  11. 4x+20=5(x+3)  <--- mulitply (x+3) with the 5

    4x+20=5x+15   <----- subtract like-terms, such as 4x-5x=1x and 20-15=5

    x=5

    i believe this is the right awnser, but i'm not sure if the awnser is positive or negitive 5, because 4-5=-1

    well i hope this awnsers your question :)
