How do you solve a rubix cube?

help this iz drivin me mad if you have any tips how to solve 1 side that will help

im rubbish and im probably pointing out the obvious but whatever the middle colour of a side is that is the colour the side will be.

Mt mate ben can do them in 5min he keeps trying to teach me but i end up throwing the thing in annoyance so he has now refuse in case i cause him an injury

It's not something that can be described in words, you need pictures at least.

Use google and you'll find lots of websites that walk you through different methods in detail. It helps if you spell "RUBIKS" correctly when you're searching.

The basic method, though, is to break it into pieces. Its really several different puzzles that you have to solve in succession. Here's one good elementary way to break it down: (There are faster and easier methods, but this one's simple to understand, so its good for beginners)

1) Solve the corners of the bottom:

-Start with one corner. Then put the next corner into the right place, keeping in mind the bottom row needs to match up also. Keep going around the cube. You can figure out how to do this without messing up the parts you've already solved.

2) Solve the bottom edges.

3) Rotate the middles so that they match up with the bottom row.

4) Now here's a more difficult technique that you'll need to look up online, but next you get the middle row edges into place.

5) Now, using a method similar to step 4, get the top corner pieces into the right places.

6) Now orient those top corner pieces so they are in the correct direction

7) Now get the top edges into the correct positions.

8) Finally, get the top edges into the correct orientations. (Steps 7 and 8 can largely be done together.)

i just peel the color stickers off and put them where they need to go... but its possible i know someone who can do it in 20 minutes

although i peeled the colored stickies and made it look like i solved it
