    (x - 12)(x - 1) = 0

    x = 12 , x = 1


  2. add 12 to both sides

    x^2-13x+12=0

    (x-12)(x-1)=0

    x=1

    x=12

  3. (x-12)(x-1) = 0

    x = 1 or 12
