  1. yes i got it!!

    your answer is right...it is 0.61

    take 1.56 as your LHS (left hand side) n (x/1-x) as ur RHS (right hand side)

    now cross multiply both the sides

    the denominatior of RHS will come to the left   that is

    the new equation wud be.......

    (1-x)1.56 = x

    (got it coz we hav cross multiplied n so the denominator of ur RHS cums to the left )

    hence

    (1-x)1.56  =  x

    distribute the stuff inside the bracet wid 1.56 n u get

    1.56 - 1.56x = x

    group both x on one side

    so       1.56 = x + 1.56x

    tht gives u

              1.56 = 2.56x (1.56x+x)

    hence x =   1.56/2.56           or .609   or .61

    hope this helped

  2. multiple both sides by 1-x

    you'll get 1.56 - 1.56x = x

    get x's on one side making it 1.56 = 2.56x

    then divide to get your answer.

  3. 1.56         =x/(1-x)

    1.56*(1-x) =x

    1.56-1.56x=x

    1.56         =2.56x

    x             =1.56/2.56

                   =0.609375

    It is round up to 0.61

  4. If the x/1 means x divided by one then you can ignore that and just say 1.56=x-x meaning that...errrrr wait....c**p

  5. 1.56 = x / (1 - x)

    1.56(1 - x) = x

    1.56 - 1.56x = x

    1.56 = 2.56 x

    .61 ~ x

    hope that helps!  : )
