  1. Fishing line stretched in the areas under the roof where birds normally fly.

Works very well in our sailing club.

  2. get a plastic owl or rubber snake

  3. On the outdoor subway platforms I've seen those spike strips.  They dont harm birds or poke them, they are just in the way and birds dont land or roost there anymore.

  4. several options, screen off all entry points, a good BB gun, get a fake cat and a fake owl, but be sure to move them weekly, (birds catch on pretty quick), shiney strips of two tone foil on string that allows them to spin in the wind, toss a firecracker in the boat house several times a day ( not a really good choice due to fire hazard),  locate where they roost in the rafters etc and put spike strips to keep them from being able to land there anymore. Just a few suggestions that I have used, or seen used in the past.

  5. We use a product called Bird X. It produces sounds that the birds do not like.  Works well with all but the ducks.  Along with the Bird X sound unit some reflective streamers seems to help too.

Good Luck and Safe Boating ! !

  6. I have seen many places where they perch a statue of a big owl in the rafters where the birds like to roost...not sure if it really works forever or not but it may worth a try.

  7. Owls don't work I tried they sit on the moving head> Snakes worked for a while> But left black where it was & if you don't move it around they get used to it> I use string it keeps them off> But the boomers from the rafters> use visquine over your boat hose off when it get messy> cost very little>

  8. we've got them flying around our covered slip at the marina and they are indeed a mess. Short of shooting them here are two suggestions:

If you have access to the rafters you can try either the plastic owl or black rubber snakes just above the boat. Not too much luck with the owl at our marina but the snakes seem to do the trick.

    Good luck!
