How do you solve this compound inequality for algebra 2?? -1< 3(y-2) ≤ 9?

  1. The 2?? -1 &lt; 3(y-2) ≤ 9 is a bit unclear with the ?? but I will help you solve it.   Break up the equation into two parts and solve that part, i.e.

    3(y-2)≤9

    assume 3(y-2)=9

    y-2=3

    y=1

    now plug y=1 into the equation and solve for x or q or whatever variable.  Good luck!
