  1. you just take the 10x^5 in the 1st parenthesis and see if you can add it with any like term in the 2nd parenthesis( like term meaning any other number with x^5) There isn't one so try to see if there are any like terms with   -8x^2. Yes it's negative. You could use it as positive then subtract the answer you get but don't go there, using it as negative 8x^2 is MUCH easier. So see if you can find a like term with -8x^2 in the 1st parenthesis in the 2nd parenthesis. You can. You can combine it with -2x^2. So add -8x^2 plus -2x^2 which is -10^2.

    So now you should be done because there are no more like terms.

    You should come out with

    10x^5+ 3x^3 -10x^2 +6.

    Always order your answer so your exponents are form highest to lower like how I put it. Your exponents go from 5 to 3 to 2 to 0.
