  1. Include brackets please.

    (100-4u)/3 = [(5u+6)/4] + 6

    Multiply all terms by 12 (LCD) to get

    4(100-4u) = [3(5u+6)] + 6(12)

    400-16u = 15u+18+72

    400 - 16u = 15u + 90

    400 - 90 = 15u + 16u

    310 = 21u

    u = ~14.76


  2. i got 982/55

    cross multiply 10(100-4u) = 3(5u+6)

    1000-40u = 15u+18

    add the 40 giving youu 1000=55u+18

    subtract 18 = 982 = 55u

    givng you u= 982/55

    i plugged it in and i got the same answer for both, hopes this help :)
