How do you spot a virus or t horse under processes in Windows Task Manager?

  1. Look at the svhosts.exe their extremly small, no more than about 45k


  2. Look for something with a weird name that is taking up lots of CPU cycles.  You can Google (or Yahoo) the process name and find a number of sites that will explain what its purpose is, and if it is legitimate.

  3. just try googling the process name.  it works fine for me.

    and some websites will even say if it's a harmful program or not.

  4. funny you should ask ive just found a fake svchost using pcguard total and superantispyware i had norton 2008 and have had it for 3 years and it didnt find it
