How do you stack images? In Astronomy magazine it shows pictures that were made by "stacking" Dozens or hundreds of pictures to make one, high quality picture. Last night while trying to shoot meteors I got a bunch of pictures of the sky I want to try and stack. How do I do that?

  1. there are lots of web pages out there. or pick up a copy of dslr astrophotography by michael covington, which discusses lots of stuff you need to know.

depending on how many frames they are stacking, ppl either use a regular graphics program like gimp or photoshop, or they use a specialized stacking program like registax.

  2. with astro-photgraphy,a group of images of the same frame are gathered

the method of 'stacking' aids in processing by reducing the amount of noise, and other flaws to generate high quality images from a number of frames.there is image processing software available to do this.

  3. You can stack: Photos, documents, of create pdf documents with Paper port now in version 11.

  4. There are programs to do that. Some are free and some are not. I like the free program Registax. See the source.
