How do you start a plot summary for a book report?

how should i start it?

Talk about the book's main characters first.

Talk about how the book starts - what are the main events?

What would you consider the climax? (The point that everything leads up to)

How did the story conclude?  How did the conclusion effect the main characters?

I'd start with a paragraph about the author, and then move on to the book.
