Firstly decide on a topic, if you have something you are really interested such as a sport or hobby, you are more likely to keep up the blog posts.

Find a template you like, use wordpress or blogger, they are easy to use.or start a squidoo lens.

Ad google ads to your site, and join an affiliate network such as Commission Junction, Shareasale and Linkshare so that you can put merchant ads on the blog. Make sure they are relevant to your subject.

To get your blog to make money you then need to promote it through social networks etc to get traffic to it. If your content is well written, people will read your blog and click on your merchant ads and that means you will make money.

To generate ad revenue I think you should have thousands of hits per day. I dont know how much you want to make on per day basis.
