hooking up with people in bars doesn't usually end in long term relationships...the kind of people there are usually just looking for fun. unless that's what you want?

loads of women now take dance lessons to keep fit. its an untapped gold mine for guys! all the girls will be impressed with your moves and by you doing something guys wouldn't usually do,

when you look it is difficult to find...just do the things you enjoy and maybe you will find someone when you are not even looking. if you enjoy art,music,plays,church,dancing,etc etc

look in public places.  if you're religious, i'd suggest church.

my uncle just got out of a similar situation, and he's recently engaged to a co-worker.

Well you could try online dating, but personally I have had pretty bad experiences with that.   If you do use one try eharmony because people are more serious on there.  Other than that volunteer places, put the word out to your friends that you are looking, those things help alot.
