  1. Start off my creating a portfolio. You'll need this to even find an agent which comes way later down the road.

-Find someone who you trust on taking your photo. Have them take a lot. Try different hair & make up.

Learn make up techniques, what hair looks best on your for your facial structure, maybe take some runway classes.

For now that's all you can do.

  2. Ok, well, don't take this as being a brag, but I am a 13-year-old model, and I've learned that it doesn't come down to looks, it really depends on how photogenic you are [how well you take pictures.] I mean, looks are very important, but taking good pictures are too. But, depending on how you look, going to other countries can REALLY get you started. You might say "well, how would that work?" because if you work some in another country, you can bring your portfolio with you and it makes you looks really good in interviews and go-sees and stuff. Also, working in a small town first helps. Start off in Seattle or Jacksonville, North Carolina, and it will seem like you have a bigger ego when you go to New York, where Fashion Week go-sees usually take place. To get started, see if there is a modeling agency where you live. It might take months before you get a shoot, but it should all be uphill from there ;D

Also, if you are into modeling, these books are really good to see what it is like behind the camera:

    Violet on the Runway

    Violet by Design

    both by Melissa Walker =]

    happy to help

  3. How tall are you?

    Get an Agent!

  4. Agencies :)

  5. first you need to get agent and then you need to take a bunch of shots and then you go from there. your agent will help you get gigs

  6. If you're really serious about getting into modeling:

First, stay away from Barbizon, JRP, Casablanca's and any of the other modeling schools posing as agencies. Any agency asking for money up front is a scam.

The best thing you can do is find an agency - which can be a little more challenging than you think.  Google searches and looking through the yellow pages will turn up more of the above scams than good legit places.  While it's not necessarily required to get a portfolio together first I would recommend it.  Having a portfolio shows your serious and it also gives you some camera-time experience which, when competing for an agency spot, can be valuable.

I would highly recommend visiting OneModelPlace.com or Model Mayhem. They're both huge online communities for the industry. You can network, find local photographers (many of which will help you build a portfolio for free) and depending on your area you may even find work. As with anything on the Internet DO YOUR RESEARCH. Check references before working with anyone and always bring someone with you to any shoot.

  7. u seem too old,i dont think u should, put a pic up first and see what they all think

    xoxo

  8. you are actually a good age for a model

too who ever said you are too old--thats bullocks!

maybe start slowly, if you really have potential a scout may just find you. go to the city and 'stand out' a little, may be a chance to get seen.

if not contact agencies and go to open calls

or go to fashion shows and you may be seen there.

    good luck
