How do you start to write a business proposal?

From what I've learned,I mist have a proposal for my taxi service before obtaining a SBA loan. Where do I start?

  1. Well if you're looking for a SBA loan, use their website to develop your business plan:  http://www.sba.gov/smallbusinessplanner/...

    The write-a-business-plan section is pretty good.  

    Try to do it in 10 to 15 pages (max).  They also have sample plans on their site to look at.

  2. Market survey.  Estimate of how many people will use your service and the average fare so you have an idea of what the income will be. Offset that with your estimated expenses - gas, insurance, rent, employee wage and taxes, license, utilities, advertising, etc. The bottom line is what you expect to clear - it should be enough to pay you and your loan.

    You can find sites on the net, but they all are fee based.
