How do you start up an itouch?

i just got an itouch and when i plug it in to the computer it says to go to itunes so i do and then it says the ipod cannot be used because the apple moble device is not started. what do i do

couldn't tell you, when I got my touch, i plugged it in 2 minutes out of the box and uploaded all my songs. no issues whatsoever. call apple support maybe they can help
