  1. How much per day

    • Begin with about 1 teaspoon dry rice cereal mixed with 4 to 5 teaspoons breast milk or formula (it'll be very runny).

    • Gradually thicken consistency and increase to 1 tablespoon dry cereal mixed with breast milk or formula, twice a day.

    Feeding tips

    • If your baby won't eat the cereal on the first try, offer it again in a few days.

You might have to keep trying it. She really may not be ready to eat off a spoon yet. just keep up with it. i know my son refused to eat rice cereal. so at four months old i started him on stage one baby food

  2. My daughters did not like eating with a spoon at first either but soon they got use to the idea and they loved it. Just hang in there and keep trying. Making sure you are using a tiny baby spoon that fits her mouth the other ones are to big! GOOD LUCK!

  3. I just did this last night! My baby just seemed so much hungrier than usual, so I decided to give him some rice cereal. I just put a little tiny bit in a bowl and added some formula till it was a consistency I liked. I put a tiny bit on the end of the spoon (infant spoon) and he sucked it right off. He seemed to like it. I only gave him a little bit. You are the mother, and go with your instincts. You know best what your daughter needs. It's new to your daughter, and it may take awhile for her to get used to it. Good luck! :)

  4. Get or read the book "Super Baby Food" by Ruth Yaron.  It is a fantastic guide to everything solid food for babies!!

If you refine your question you might get more hits too...  Its just a little too general.

  5. If she isn't ready then I wouldn't push it.  Try again in a couple weeks. If still not then try again!  I also know many people who skip the cereal and try something else with more flavor. Prior to 1 yrs of age solids are just a practice food.  Formula or breast milk is still their main source of nutrition so not a big deal if not wanting it.  I started my son at 4 months but my daughter I didn't until about 6 months.
