Bring in a notepad or computer

act like you're taking notes, but do whatever you want! I can doodle, make lists of things I need to do or buy at the grocery store, study for another class,complete other homework the list goes on... and of course if you have a computer you could even play games

I always had lots of paper and pencils.  I always kept my books open to the pages the teacher was on, but I always doodled on paper.  I listened and I answered the questions when asked.  Doodling kept me awake.

1. breathe deeply ... you need the oxygen to keep your brain lively.

2. draw a mind map of what is being discussed instead of just taking notes in the normal. it will help you better retain the material being presented.

3. think of questions to ask, if appropriate

Usually if I'm in history class or something boring I like to poke and annoy people.. haha. But I guess its not a very practical thing to do because people will hate you for it :P

Food or gum works great. Skittles are perfect. eat each one slowly and before you know it, class is over

Try to relate the material to something that you are interested in. Also, you could contribute ideas or or ask questions about the topic. Coming up with questions and comments will provide you with a challenge and liven up the class.
